A wildly entertaining debut that blasts science fiction into mind-bending new territory…
Flanagan (who is, for want of a better word, a pirate) has a plan. It involves kidnapping the daughter of the ruler of the known universe, holding her for ransom, and maybe, just maybe, ousting the Cheo from his throne and throwing the galaxy into a civil war. Too bad it hasn’t worked the previous times he’s tried it.
Debatable Space is an audaciously executed tale of revolution and revenge set in the far future—and everywhere in-between.

I received an advance copy of the Electric Church at ALA in DC and I was hooked from the first page. It was like touching a live wire and contact could not be broken. I simply could not put it down. Whoever said it was Kill Bill meets Bladerunner was right. I would also add that for me it was also reminiscent of Heinlein whose writings along with Asimov, I grew up devouring. I am so looking forward to reading more of his work and I am now perusing his Inner Swine site.

I finished the Winterbirth ARC last night and I cannot wait for the next part of the trilogy. Initially I found it a bit hard to get into it as I thought it was like reading a Russian novel with all the names. However, as with any of the Russian novels I have read, I found it rewarding to stick with it. Ruckley makes his characters come alive and develop during the telling of this epic. The time, place, and characters he has created in this story will be loved as much as those of Middle Earth and Shannara.

I’ve received several ARCs from Orbit and can’t wait to dig into them! Most notable I’ll be reading and review Winterbirth over at my blog sometime around its September release date! And, even more exciting, I have an interview with Brian Ruckley coming along shortly before that!
The Fall lineup sure looks like a great way to start things off with a bang and I can’t wait to watch and see where Orbit US takes things!
