A story-teller of great skill has left a void that will not be filled quickly. My respects to his family and friends. I know i am adding my voice to those of countless others when i say RJ brightened my life with his amazing books.

I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the books. I heard that someone else will finish the final book. Is this true and any news on when the book will be published?

Today is the first time I have accessed this book site, having intended but not quite managed on a number of previous occassions. I was eagerly looking for some indication of the release of the last wheel of time book, I am both saddened and shocked to read of Robert Jorden's death. I became hooked on the series since I bought the first book, second hand from a stall in a Sunday market (for the princely sum of 75p) that I used to frequent for years before I moved from that area. I am grateful to Mr Jorden for hours of fun, magic and blood and guts he brought to my imagination.

The chap who has got the job of finishing the tale is Brandon Sanderson. Apparently he was chosen by the family of Robert Jordan so lets just hope they know best. Due publication date is (I think) end of 2009

I've read the series twice in the last three years. When I heard of his passing, I started reading the series again. Every time I read the books I pick up on somehing new that I missed the previous times. Such depth of writing is incredible.

I had mistakenly thought that I read someplace that the final installment was due out in early 2008, so I was rubbing my hands in anticipation as the New Year is just around the corner. But a few minutes ago on another site I read that is not due out till 2009. Perhaps, they were basing the '09 release date on when Jordan was still alive. I read someplace else that in full health he would spend 12 - 14 hours per day writing the earlier books in the series. Towards the end that had been reduced to about 1 hour per day.

RIP Robert Jordan

I had finished 1 through 11 and had just started reading the first book again in anticipation of the last volume, and was astounded by the news of his passing. I am very sad to have lost such a story teller, my condolences to his family and all who enjoyed his works. Hopefully we will still get to the end of the Wheel of Time.
