The Digital Plague - Reviewed!

Graeme’s Fantasy Book Review has a great piece on Jeff Somers’ The Digital Plague (UK/US) today, where he calls it:

Last year I was lucky enough to get hold of a copy of Jeff Somers’ debut ‘The Electric Church’, a gritty ‘dystopian future’ thriller that (while by no means perfect) I had a lot of fun with and left me eagerly waiting for the sequel. Well, it’s ‘sequel time’! :o) Actually, it isn’t ‘sequel time’, it’s ‘great sequel time’…Highly recommended to anyone who likes their sci-fi mean, streetwise and drenched in bullets!

Well worth the wait. Combines the fear of contagious disease/plague (The Andromeda Strain, Year of Wonders, The Doomsday Book) with the noir future in Cates’ world. I just wonder if Robert Rodriquez, Quentin Tarantino, or Ridley Scott will pick up the film options.

    Hi Mary -

Very glad to hear that you enjoyed The Digital Plague. And yes, a Rodriguez / Tarantino adaptation would be very cool indeed… no news on that front yet, but if something happens we’ll be shouting about it here very shortly afterwards, I promise you :)
