Deals and Deliveries: two new novels from Kate Elliott

I am delighted to say that we have just acquired Traitors’ Gate – book three in Kate Elliott’s stunningly atmospheric Crossroads sequence – in addition to the as-yet untitled book four in the series.

This is a fabulous fantasy adventure where a few key individuals play their parts in a violent struggle for land and power, against a colourful backdrop of different cultures and religions. We follow spies, temple-trained assassins and otherworldly Guardians whose function is to administer justice – until corruption turns their powers to dark purposes.

Spirit Gate and Shadow Gate are already out in mass market paperback, and Traitors’ Gate will now follow in large format paperback in September 09.

So there will be a fourth book? I read an interview with her from the 11th that called this series a “trilogy” and so does http://www.kateelliott.com. Is there any news to say that the fourth book will end it? I’m curious :)

Faith…A year or so ago, I think the talk was that the Crossroads series would be 7 total books. A trilogy, a standalone to bridge them, then another trilogy. I think each trilogy tells a complete story with the 7 book arc. Anyone else know if this is still the case?

Hi Faith and Jeff – thanks for your comments and it’s great to hear that you’re keeping up with news on the series. And Jeff’s point on the sequence does match our understanding of future plans here. So to clarify, TRAITORS’ GATE would complete the trilogy, with book four being a stand-alone set in the same world. Hope that helps!
