I love the three Magic books. Though I only pick them up these days when I need a good cry. My all time favorite Lackey is "By the Sword." I have read that book once or twice a year since it came out. Although, I must express some long tendered adoration for André LeBrel the sexy French vampire in her Diana Tregarde series. He may, in fact, be responsible for my urban fantasy inclinations.

I remember being a freshman MANY years ago, and let's face it, we were all dumb as dirt, and lacking common sense back then, though we thought we knew it all. I'm sure deep, deep inside they appreciate what you are teaching them:)

I think Jane reaches out to all of us who struggled in high school and in life, especially if we lived in a small town (I did). It's hard for me to imagine someone not liking her, but then again I suppose there are some people out there who also don't like cookies, or cheesecake. They can't help it if they are wrong. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I enjoyed the whole post, but got an extra grin from seeing Vanyel Ashkevron's name again-- my own copies of his adventures are still sitting on my shelf after all these years, missing their covers now and a good many pages.

Thanks mostly for the nudge to let my favourite authors know how much I've loved their work, whether on their blog or by old-fashioned letter. I used to do that but life gets more mad the more middle-aged I get, and I lost the habit.

Happy holidays!
