Orbit at Comic-Con @ Home!

This year, San Diego Comic-Con will take place online as “Comic-Con @ Home,” and it will be fully open to the public. If you’ve always wanted to attend SDCC, this is your chance!

Join Orbit at our “New Voices in Science Fiction & Fantasy” panel on Thursday, July 23 at 5 PM Pacific (8 PM Eastern). This panel features some of our 2020 debut authors: K.S. Villoso, Luke Arnold, Constance Sayers, Devin Madson, Andrea Stewart, Essa Hansen, and M.A. Carrick. Plus, there will be guest appearances from other, beloved Orbit authors.

Redhook author Alix E. Harrow will also appear on the “Personal, Political, Fictional, and Factual” panel on Saturday, July 25th at 12 PM Pacific (3 PM Eastern). This panel features authors who address serious, important topics in science fiction, fantasy, and graphic novels. It’s a great fit for Harrow’s THE ONCE AND FUTURE WITCHES (Redhook; October), which tackles the women’s suffrage movement, in the 100th anniversary year of the 19th Amendment.

The Expanse at SDCC!

It was great seeing so many of you at San Diego Comic-Con last weekend. For those of you who couldn’t make it this year, we brought you back a souvenir!

Check out DRIVE by James S. A. Corey on Syfy.com. This free short story is set 150 before the events of LEVIATHAN WAKES (US | UK | AUS) and concerns the invention of the Epstein Drive.

We also brought back pictures of Syfy’s Expanse Cafe, which you can check out on the James S. A. Corey Facebook fan page.

The main event of the weekend was The Expanse panel where the first episode was screened in its entirety. While you’ll have to wait until December to see it on television, you can check out some of the panel highlights and reviews by io9 and B&N’s Sci-Fi & Fantasy blog right now!

Last but certainly not least, Entertainment Weekly has the exclusive on a new extended trailer. Go. Now. Watch. Is it December yet?

PSA: Zombie Outbreak Ravages San Diego

It’s that time of year again. Time for a horde of readers, superheroes, and Jedi to descend on the city of San Diego for Comic Con!

To kickoff the festivities, a new piece of Newsflesh short fiction is available now and set during San Diego Comic-Con…the very last San Diego Comic-Con.

It was the first days of the Rising and no one realized that most of the people who picked up their badges that fateful weekend would never make it out alive. This was the last stand of the California Browncoats.

SAN DIEGO 2014 a really fun story whether you are a regular at the convention or not. If you couldn’t make it out to California,  you can still get a taste for the experience by picking up SAN DIEGO: 2014.  For those of you who are going to Comic Con,  then definitely stop by our booth:  #1118. We will be giving away the yellow button that you see on the cover at various times throughout the weekend. Mira will also be at the show this year so check out her panels and signings.

The only thing we ask is that you leave the zombie plague at home. Remember the Rising doesn’t happen until for another two years, but if you must shamble on over to San Diego, please snack responsibly and try not eat the cast of Firefly.

Details on all our Comic-Con events are  here.
