THE GIRL WITH ALL THE GIFTS Movie: See the Poster and Trailer!

You can now watch the movie trailer for M. R. Carey’s THE GIRL WITH ALL THE GIFTS! Directed by Colm McCarthy (Sherlock, Peaky Blinders and Doctor Who), starring  Glenn Close, Gemma Arterton and Paddy Considine, and introducing Sennia Nanua, the film is a major release for Warner Bros and due to come out in the UK on September 23rd.

THE GIRL WITH ALL THE GIFTS was a word-of-mouth bestseller with over half a million readers worldwide. We’re beyond excited to see characters such as Melanie and Miss Justineau brought to life on the big screen – eagle-eyed fans might spot the author himself in there among the zombie hordes too.

We can’t wait! Here’s the official poster released by Warner Bros:

2010 and All That

Further to Bella’s post, below, on the 2008 Eastercon, I thought it worth mentioning that Eastercon returns to the Radisson Edwardian at Heathrow (amusingly nicknamed the “Radisson Non-Euclidean” by convention wags), in two years time. Even more exciting for us at Orbit Towers is that the convention committee have shown the great good taste to invite Mike Carey as one of their Guests of Honour.

First Charles Stross, now Mike Carey – they can hold Eastercons at Heathrow every year, as far as we’re concerned!

Mike Carey Yatters (Doesn’t Everyone?)

Dead Men's Boots Iain Emsley has posted a very interesting interview with Mike Carey over at Yatterings.  It was largely conducted at last year’s Fantasycon, and covers Mike’s work on the Crossing Midnight and Lucifer comics and, of course, his masterful series of Felix Castor novels: The Devil You Know, Vicious Circle and Dead Men’s Boots. At the risk of annoying Castorphiles the length and breadth of the country, I can also reveal that Mike has delivered  the fourth Castor novel, Thicker Than Water, and that it is a magnificent addition to the canon. You’ll have to be patient until January next year for that, I’m afraid, but don’t look at it as waiting – look at it as the perfect opportunity to re-read the first three books.
